Slice User Group Swap

I am a member of the MM Slice User Group & they are holding their first swap. The only restrictions is to use something that has been 'sliced'. I got the idea from the card that Jackie send me in our Chunky Book 1-4-1 Christmas Card Swap, thanks Jackie.

NGS Book Review - Circular Motion

This is the latest post for the Book Review. It is Circular Motion. I first stamped the flourish with versamark & heated it until dry. Then stained the card stock with dye inks. Over stamped with the flourish with dye inks & also clear embossed the flourish. Instead of making an embellishment with Hot Glue, I used a flourish cut with my new MM Slice Machine, then future embellished with Rhinestones. I have already used the left over background on other projects.

NGS Book Review - Sage Bargello

The next study in the Nancy Curry Book Review is Sage Bargello. I really had fun with this technique & am sure that I will use it more frequently in the future.

NGS - Book Review

The NGS group is holding a Book Review. The book chosen was "Texture Effects" by Nancy Curry. Attached is my first 'class' on Resist Technique. This is the size of an ATC using Stampin' Up stamps and inkpad onto white gloss. I can't wait to do more.

NGS - Nov Art Lottery

The theme for this months Art Lottery is 'Spirit'. I have done this ATC using a Micro Art Frame, embossed with Meltz Thick Embossing powder (Amethyst). I them printed the quote onto acetate and stamped onto it and adhered the acetate to the back of the frame. It is easy but effective.

Valentine Pop-up

Miniature ATC is hosting a Valentine Pop-up Swap. The ATC is to measure 1.5" x 2.5" when folded up. I have chosen the 'Waterfall card' for this. I have used the traditional colour of red with small stamps to embellish it with. The picture shows all the layers of the pop up. Even though it is small, it was so much fun to do. Thanks Donna for coming up with the swap and hosting it.

CBA - Texture Challenge

Chunky Book is hosting fortnightly challenges, the first is 'Texture". I started with a blank 4" square blank canvas. For the texture I used Impasto Medium through Gyprock tape for the left hand top corner, down the right hand side I used crumpled tissue paper, and also a cuttlebug border die cut, in the middle I placed a skeleton leaf. I let this dry, then coated it with 2 layers of black gesso. For the colour, I used Pefect Pearls in Pewter, Blue Patina & Green Patina. Also Adirondack Acrylics in Cranberry & Denim & Adirondack Metallics Dabber in Pearl. I embellished it with a die cut key and German scraps. I am happy with the result and can't wait for the next challenge.

Mini ATC for November 08

I have just completed my 2nd Mini ATC. It is so much fun. For the background I used Memories Mist (Orange Juice & Strawberry Daiquiri) & also Chalk Ink (Purple, this was sponged through sequins waste). I then stamped onto it with Archival Ink, added German Scraps & the clock face.

Botanica Palette Background

I have just received the Texture Effects book by Nancy Curry. I just loved the Botanica technique which is using the chalk pads that I have had for quite a while but never really liked them once stamped. I dabbed different colours on onto a shaddow block them stamped onto white card. I now have a new appreciation for the chalk pads.

Stamp Board

I purchased Stamp Board a while back but was never happy with the results so it was put aside and forgotten about until a friend suggested that I try Alcohol Inks on it. WOW! I am now hooked. For this piece I covered the Stamp Board with Alcohol Inks, then stamped into it. I then coated it with Clear Papier and while it was wet placed the watch face into it and let it dry.

CBA - House Swap - Group 1

Chunky Book Artists is holding another swap. The theme is 'Houses'. We were given a template for the size of the house but the rest was up too us. There are 15 participants in each group. I chose to sign up for all three houses. For Group 1, I chose to do a Bird House. The background was achieved using Verdigris Patina, a product that I have not used before, but am now hooked on.

CBA - House Swap - Group 2

Chunky Book Artists Swap - Theme 'Houses".
I chose to do a Butterfly House for Group 2. It was great fun creating this & I got really messy doing the background.

CBA - House Swap - Group 3

Chunky Book Artists Swap - Theme 'Houses'.
For Group 3, I chose to do a Beach House. It may not look much but it took quite a while to do each one as each panel is done individually. Never mind I love the outcome.

NGS - September Art Lottery

Each month NGS have an Art Lottery. The theme for September was 'Swirls & Flourishes'. I entered it and won. This means that all the entries for the month will be posted to me. I can't believe that I won it, I am so excited to receive everyone's work from all different countries.

This is my entry for September.
